32/36DFEV Idle jet - what size?

Post by Slartibartfaster »

It appears that I need to replace a missing primary idle jet and holder - must have vibrated itself out during my test run. Anyone have advice on jet size for my setup?

'79 Spider 2l, 1800 intake, 4-2-1 exhaust, new Weber 32/36DFEV, de-smogged.

The secondary idle jet is 50 (just what it came with, not an educated choice) which may be right, I don't know. What should I get for the primary idle jet?

Apropos of nothing, I found that my new Weber needed to have the float level corrected out of the box and had metal shavings and brass 'dust' in the float bowl. Glad I decided to open it up.

I saw this on the WeberCarbs Direct site - WEBER CARBURETOR ORIGINAL JET SPECS: http://nebula.wsimg.com/be26d95816e7c29 ... oworigin=1

PRIMARY IDLE: 74403.060
SECONDARY IDLE: 74403.050

I'd say that is a 60.
