1981 50th Anniversary??? What am I missing?

Came across this ad on Craigslist. It says it's a 50th anniversary. I'm not very good at math, but I can't figure out how a 1981 car is a 50th anniversary. What am I missing here? Is this a real "special" car? What do you guys think of this?

I believe it commemorates the 50th anniversary of Fiat and Pininfarina working together.

It's "special" in that only 1000 were built. However they come up for sale pretty frequently and don't seem to be priced at any premium over a "regular" 1981 model.

I think they also has a a padded center console and a leather (or vinyl) wrap piece on the lower part of the dash, the two tone door panel and contrasting door handles. Maybe a few other bits. I had an 80 that was equipped identically though so they weren't all that special or unique. And of course the seller is wrong about 81 being the first year of FI as that happened in 80 as well.

IMHO not worth any more or less than any other Spider and all based on condition.
