I drove the car last Wednesday and all was well. Thursday morning it won't start, that afternoon I come home from work to troubleshoot it. I get it started but it dies. I get it started again after some time and the only way to keep it from dying it to mash the gas pedal.
The next day I changed the fuel lines, checked the spark plugs (good spark), and a few other things. It still won't run, when I try to get it going, it will pop and fuel will spray out of the top of the carb. Again ai get it started but it won't rev and I have to mash the gas to keep it from dying.
I have reached my limits of troubleshooting, any other ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Car wont run/ fuel pump?
Hi,
I have the same problem now for 4 years after the installation of and 1800 manifold and 32ADFA carb. It's OK if you use it every day but if I let it sit a week I have to pump the gas pedal for 30 seconds or more. I put in new lines and check valves. I still have a 2000 mechanical pump. I am making the conversion to an electric this spring.
Good luck.
Greg

Re: Car wont run/ fuel pump?
The electric pump did the trick. No more pumping after sitting around for a week. I used a very quiet Carter model P60504 from Summit Racing. It came with the inline filter as shown. It was very compact and easy to install. I installed the pressure regulator from Auto-Ricambi.

You have spark and you have fuel, albeit spraying out of the carb. Which carb is it and is it due for a rebuild?
