Where to find metric fuel hose?
Replacing all the fuel lines in engine compartment and having a hard time finding metric locally. I've found 5mm, 7mm, and 11mm in there and am hesitant to use SAE sized hose.

I've used 5/16" fuel hose for 20+ years without problems.

Re: Where to find metric fuel hose?
I used this 7.5 mm hose for mine and was really pleased with the outcome, including the ability to retain the Bosch collar locks when I reassembled my FI system.

If you're in the midst of ordering a lot of parts, Midwest-bayless sells all original style and size metric hoses, as well as cavis hose for the clear lines. Fits great and looks good.

5/16" hose is almost identical to 8mm.

Many local parts stores in the Tampa Bay area carry the metric fuel lines in bulk as do most European car dealerships. I can usually locate them at a vendor along the route of my daily commute so it takes a few phone calls in the evening and then a 10 minute stop on the way home from work the next day to aquire them.

I was wondering about that...there's got to be a source for people driving Hondas and Volkswagons, right?DieselSpider wrote:Many local parts stores in the Tampa Bay area carry the metric fuel lines in bulk as do most European car dealerships. Try a BMW dealer. I was able to get 7 mm I.D. brake hose from them.

Re: Where to find metric fuel hose?
I don't think there are any 7mm fuel hoses on the Spider, maybe yours have shrunk with age? Should be 8mm. Anyways, I used 5/16", which is 7.9mm. Fits perfectly. Of course we also carry 8mm FI fuel hose in our store.Fiatlanta wrote:For which lines? Re: Where to find metric fuel hose?
Only real problem with 5/16" is it's annoying to see fractions and base 12 units when the rest of the car uses a logical measurement system!
