Which service manual should I get?

When I go to IAP, I have two flavors of service manual:

Factory Repair Manual, Fiat Spider 1975-on

Shop Manual, Brooklands: Fiat 124 Coupe/Spider & 2000 Spider

Not sure which to get here. Any comments?

as I said many times, gather as many sources of information as you can. Buy them both if they fit in the budget, otherwise start with the factory reprint and watch the auction sites for cheap copies of the various aftermarket books

Thanks, Mark. Going to start with 1 book. The wife will probably go into conniptions if she finds out I spent $100 on service manuals.

you wife does not need to know EVERYTHING does she? if so, then you won't be buying too many parts for the Spider. Then, you will have to have those parts shipped to the office, rather than home, because i am sure she will quickly learn to count UPS truck trips to your driveway and brown boxes counted at the doorstep.




seriously, get both the brooklands and the IAP copy of the Fiat Service Manual. you will not be disappointed. I only wish i could justify putting a laptop in the garage, so i could spin the CD versions of the repair manuals.

no garage is complete without a wet bar, wi-fi, 36 in plasma wall mount tv, and complete cd 4 speaker system.
