Sorry, haven't posted since September last year but have been making some solid progress with my 72 Spider. Get some pictures soon.
Back axle is out at the moment after refurbishing brakes and suspension and am about to reinstall the 3 rubber bump stops that reside in the chassis above the back axle.
Is there a simple install procedure to get the mushroom into the chassis hole that receives it???

How to replace the rubber bump stops in 2 minutes
See these two holes here one on the bottom one on the side, the side one is there for a reason.
Put some grease on the nipple
Wrap some string (strong) once around the nipple
Feed string up through bottom hole, then through side hole
hold rubber up to hole, place pressure on bottom of rubber while with the other hand pull string with small tugs till the rubber is pulled through hole. Voila!! tug string till it comes loose from nipple. Go have a celebratory beer!
