Air filter mounting stud hole stripped

Post by Texafornian »

On my 77 Spider single carb, one of the four holes where the mounting studs screws in is stripped out. Three others are fine. Can I live with it, or is it urgent to fix? If so, what are ideas for how to fix? It doesn't seem like a complete carb replacement is warranted. It is the lower left hole if you are on the driver's side looking down at it. Thanks for your advice!

I bought a length of stud and cut it to size. I secured it using 2 nuts on the underneath. I hate that design with those little bits at risk getting sucked into the carb. Be sure to tighten accordingly and use a threadlocker on especially on the top nut.

I think I may have a couple oversized studs that we were looking at putting into production. Email me directly on Monday and I'll make you a deal
