Correct Fuel Pressure - carb engine

Post by jagonza »

What is the correct spec for fuel pressure under load for a 77 - 1.8 with a 34 ADF - 10:1 compression , i am installing a new fuel pump and trying to figure out whether i need a fuel pressure regulator, the pump is rated at 4-9 psi.

I think for Webers it's 2.5-4 psi so you might want to put a fuel pressure regulator on.

When I had a carbed Spider once upon a time, I had an electric fuel pump in the back and the pressure regulator up by the carb to keep the fuel pressure up as it travels under the car to get there. The higher pressure should make the car less prone to vapor lock during the summer.
