Clock

Post by Spiderbob »

I have a 78 Spider with the original clock. I can hear the clock running (quartz - says Veglia on face) but the hands don't move. I know a gentleman used to repair them but he didn't answer my message. Does anyone know of someone who can repair the clock? I'd at least like to keep the original face even if the movement is replaced to retain the look of the original clock. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If that doesn't work out, Palo Alto Speedometer is an excellent source as well.

Still no luck, I never had a reply from Mr. Rios. I sent another email, so hopefully I'll hear back. I'd be interested in a used one too if it's in good shape. Mine has a black surround and the VEGLIA written on the face. I'm trying to keep the original look. If someone has any further insight or resources please let me know. Thanks.

I have been wondering if there might be a battery operated replacement that looks like the original?

The price tag is too high for the benefit.

Palo Alto Speedometer

edit: repaired and put new glass in mine for well under a hundred bucks.

Allison's Automotive offers a direct replacement clock made by VDO at a more reasonable price.
