Aluminum radiators!-direct replacement

it will fit the auto cars but the radiator is not equipped with a trans cooler. We've been installing a cylindrical cooler under the air filter box on auto cars

I bought one for my 1983 DS model 2 litre, I tried to fit it last week and it doesn't fit. Are the later ones different on DS models?
