Early Hood Prop

Looking to purchase the bracket and rod that holds up the hood. The early type. I understand this bracket can be removed buy flexing the metal around it . Thanks, RB

The bracket on the hood would need to be cut off, but actually it would be very easy to fabricate. It is just a U-shaped piece of metal with a couple of holes. The bracket on the raditor support unbolts, I bet I have a few laying around.
However the assembly is also available new:

Could anyone post a close up photo of the bracket attached to the hood? Anyone have a discarded hood that they could remove the bracket and prop from? I'm in the market for one. Thanks RB

Looks like everybody's hood cracks in that same spot from the stress of the prop rod. While were at it what repair has been found to work best at preventing the metal from tearing again at that location?
