Hey guys I just pulled out my transmission, only problem is that when I took apart the shifter from underneath it slipped out of my hands and fell into pieces. I collected all the pieces and tried to see if I could get it back together I think I have it but does anyone know exactly how its supposed to go back together. Thanks!

Re: 1983 Fiat 5 speed shifter
you have them in the correct order; spring, large cup, plastic mount, small cup, lock nut

Re: 1983 Fiat 5 speed shifter
so just to clarify,
put shifter in through the top, then from the bottom spring goes on
the large cup flat side down (spring sitting inside the bowl side)?
plastic mount holding in the cup. any way to keep it centred as i work?
small cup flat side down?
then lock nut, cover and click that little lock on top?
Appreciate the help!

I just redid my transmission and got all new shifter parts...was only able to get one bushing to go in. Just a heads up.
