We spotted this strange spider on a trip thru the redwoods this weekend, it sports some odd body mods!

the front looks like a 240Z, the back, hmmm. Not too sure about those taillights. Is that a rack for a canoe or hang glider?

That's different alright. It does resemble a Z car up front. Then the numbers on the rear; 94124, a reference to Porche/Fiat tie-in mayhaps? Are those GTO tails light you think?
Fun stuff.
And Trey, thanks for the mention of the (no doubt pleasant) drive through the redwoods. Greetings from the Mojave Desert.

GTO is close...I think they're from a '66 LeMans or Tempest.

The front end got stretched way out, look at the head light recesses. Wonder if they got a bigger engine in there?

Next to that X19 that was on ebay last year with a 8v and some kind of small Camper looking thing on the back of it
this is one of the oddest modified fiats ive seen ! is it just the challenge of making something different or the
lack of taste that drives people to go so out of there way to do this stuff ? I don't get it the 124 looks good stock
or with mods but changing everything seems a waste of time IMO .

Doubt it, but heres a thought. He did call it a "rally" fiat on the windshield. ASide from the stretched front end, and the canoe rack, alot of the mods on the car could be for rallying the car. He put the plexiglass across the loewr grill, and put the metal mud flaps on it. These could be to prevent rocks from getting thrown in from the lower grill, and the wheel well. While odd, the tail lights do have metal grills over them. THis could be to again, keep debris from breaking them. The rear bumper could be consistent, to reduce weight. Teh wheel wells look larger than stock. Maybe this was done as a fancy way to increase suspension travel?
Again, I doubt this is the case, but I guess it IS possible???????
Hell, maybe he stretched the front end to put a 12 cyl jag motor in it?

That thing sticking out the bonnet (sorry, hood). Is that a key for winding it up?

Dang Pope, those are the lights I sent you a pic of a few months back when I was thinking of using them. I already have a set since I dealt with those cars for years. They are '66 Pontiac Tempest/LeMans vintage. I thought they fit the curve of the body pretty well, and I like the fact they were vintage looking and not modern. Though, now that I see them, I'm not sure I like them as much as I thought I would. Although the rest of the car maybe kills the effect.

I seriously thought this was an original thought of mine, but I guess there is no such when customizing cars anymore.
