Overheating and suspect compression

Post by bairohio »

Pretty sure the overheating and general poor performance has something to do with my compression

1/90
2/110
3/110
4/80

Give it to me straight doc. What's my next step?

Mileage on engine? Any smoking? Burning oil? Using antifreeze? What do your plugs look like?

No real smoke to speak of. Plugs 1,2,3 were super wet (oil)when pulled for compression test. 4 looked dry. 70k on speedo. A smell of burning oil from engine after driving. From the area of the exhaust.

Any chance you could point to a "How To" for leak down test? I was happy just to figure out the compression test.
