head rest

Post by FiatJim »

The head rest will not stay up. Is there a repair for this? Also, when it is nearly fully up, it is still a little too short. Is there a way to make/install a head rest with longer posts?

Have you taken your seat back apart? I did once and forgot to re-install the clips on the tubes inside the seat back for the head rest. Without the clips, the head rests will not stay up.

I've never had the back off of the seats. I will have to add that to the "While it's parked for winter,...." list :-)

If the clips are not there,... what now? Are they available through the vendors?

Did they ever work? The reason why I ask is that I doubt these clips would break, as they are metal. If the head rests never worked, then it's possible the PO removed them. The clips are just large cotter pins that go through the receiver tubes for the head rest rods.

No, the headrest never worked since I got the vehicle back from getting it refurb'd. The job included new vinyl covers for the sests. The part may have fallen off, or not put back in. Who knows.
