Exhaust manifold and EGR

This may be a dumb question, but I may need to replace my exhaust manifold, and I don't know if I need one which is ported for EGR or not. The dumb part is "how can I tell?"

I have a '75, carbureted engine. The manifold is one with 4-downto-2 ports. There definitely is an "EGR" light on the center console, but I am also sure that my Frankenstein car has been modified or rebuilt with potentially non-standard parts for an American '75.

What should I look for on my manifold, engine, etc.?

If I DO have EGR currently connected, can (should?) it be bypassed?

I am considering this part https://www.midwest-bayless.com/p-7138- ... ished.aspx. This manifold is specifically NOT ported for EGR. I will have a muffler shop (or maybe a foreign car mechanic) do the work since there are some other exhaust issues.

the original egr valve on your engine was connected to the top of the exhaust manifold through a series of tubes. You only need it if you have to meet emission standards

Thanks, Mark. So, if they do still exist, all port or valves, or whatever the tubes are connected to can just be capped?

(Hey, how about some calculus to explain this one, too, professor!)
