After having owned my 77Spider (my first car) since 1999 I have been pretty negligent and rough with her since about 2006. I'm at a point now where I fell back in love with her and I'm beginning to slowly put her back to a condition that she she deserves.
I plan on changing the canvas top once its time for paint (might be in a yr or two). In the mean time my current roof is in decent shape (bought it off of Caribou for my last respray maybe in 2001). The plastic window stitching is disintegrating and coming undone. The roof is not torn nor is the plastic window. Only the stitching is garbage.
My goal is to temporarily mend the current stitching. Has anyone had any experience having the roof repaired or will I have to spend an entire weekend physically sewing the thing back together again?
Thanks
p.s. Just got great new tires and rims for her and its like driving a different car. Old tires were scrap Canadian Tire brand DIY trailer tires that were a good 12 yrs old. Now to lower her and do brakes all around

I found this link and it pretty much describes exactly how to do a DIY repair job. Incredibly time consuming but hey, could be therapeutic lol
