I know the basics of where to start on this one, but wanted to get a 124 expert's opinion.
My 76 won't start unless I basically hold and/or pump the gas while cranking. Once started, I have to rev it a few times to keep it from stalling out. Once the engine has warmed up, I have zero problems idling.
My first guess is it's running too lean, but wanted to get some direction on that or if there's another common cause. This is a project car and I have not adjusted the timing yet. Could that also be a cause? It doesn't seem to idle roughly.

What model carb do you have? Is the choke on the carb working properly?

If it runs well when started it's likely a fuel delivery issue. Could be anything from the tank to the carb including fuel pump, filter, choke adjustment, clogged, worn out, or needing adjustment carb.
