High idle in Park, Low idle in Drive

I have a strange behavior from an '84 Pininfarina with the Automatic transmission: I set the idle speed with the car in Drive against blocks as stated in the manual, but when in park, the idle speed jumps up at least 300-400 rpms. I cannot figure out a way to get the same (700-800 rpm) idle speed in both park and drive

Currently, Park/idle is at 1000 rpm and Drive idle is at about 600-700 rpm

Hi aevansgatech,
I had an '84 Pinin with auto trans, and that is exactly how it always ran. I thought that was normal.

Thanks philbert, I'll try to set the correct Drive idle and live with the high (1100-1200) Park idle
