My friend just bought a 72 BC and wants to drop the 2L from one of his Spiders into it. Anyone know if there are any clearance issues he might face? Looks to me like the massive hood on the coupe will fare fine but just wondering what actual experience says.
Thanks

Re: Sport Coupe question
it should fit in, the only thing that MAY be an issue is the cam mounted dizzy..
I know of many that have put 2L in the CC which have the same style bonnet (hood in your case)

Re: Sport Coupe question
If clearance is still an issue, I would investigate using the earlier style motor mounts to try and lower the high of the motor, though they may not be compatible. I'm sure someone can confirm or deny this.

Re: Sport Coupe question
My friend has a 2L in his BC, no major issues. As usual the air cleaner has to be a shorter type and the distributor may need to be rotated to a position that gives max hood clearance.

Re: Sport Coupe question
Csaba/Georgeramos - WE also out a 2.0L cross member in the coupe, which increased the clearance by about an inch. I would recommend you do this to give yourself max flexibility for using different air filters, etc.

Re: Sport Coupe question
Jeff, we did put a 2L crossmember in, but if you remember in the end it did not make that much difference.
