cup holders

Post by brackie1 »

I have searched old post but did not find anything that I thought would work. has anyone come up with a good idea. a friend of mine who has a vet has one that slides onto is emergency brake handle, but I can't figure out how to make it work on my spider.

A generic plastic cup holder fits nicely on the glove box door.

I got a couple of these and mounted in front of the bottom seat frame.

I haven't put the seats back in the car yet, so I can't say if they will work though.

I relocated everything in center of dash to below the dash in the center console. Then mounted the cup holders in center dash.

not sure I like the look

I made this one a few years ago, to hook over the driver's side map pocket. It works well, but I don't use it much - I'd rather drive!

Yeah for years I just stuck a can in the map pocket. Trouble was I'd have to shove some rags toward the front to keep the can from tipping forward.

My idea was to remove the map pocket, plug the holes with some of those HELP! hole covers and cut the hanger off the cup holder and attach it with some screws. The only problem is if the heater is on, my cold beverage does not stay cool.

I also made one for my Yugo. Before the Spider actually.

I fabricate a cup holder out of plexiglas. it mounts with a single screw under the dash. It swings out to use and back when not in use

I haven't tried one of these but it is interesting idea. Especially with modern blue tooth sound systems that work with Ipad or phones. No need for the radio.
