hd heater pipe

Post by So Cal Mark »

We have a new manufacturer producing heater pipes and they've sent us the first batch with the new hd flange. The flange is 1/4" thick to prevent warpage or leaks at the water pump mounting flange.

I'm not complaining, but I am curious as to why no one has these made to include the tab that attaches to the exhaust manifold? I love the HD flange and SS, but I don't understand the omission of the other piece. "Splain it to me! Thanks. b-

I ended up welding a stainless tab to mine - The HD flange isnt even necessary with the addition of the tab.

The tab is probably omitted because it interferes with certain header pipes, etc.

I think Mark recently mentioned that he was going to start selling the support tab.

An Adel clamp with the proper heat resistant cushion is needed, yes!

Are longer mounting studs required?

Probably not, as there appears to be enough room for another nut and washer on mine, but they were somewhat FrankenFiated I must say...

Mine arrives today!

Now that I've bypassed the heater core, this pipe will finish off this winter's cooling system overhaul

I have both versions in stock, with the nipple and without. If you modernize the carb with an electric choke, you don't need the small water line anymore

Hi Mark: Did that water pipe support-bracket Adel-type Clamp idea ever go into production?
