Going to take another wack at this thing. I haven't posted in a few years to this site. I gave the Fiat thing a break for a while seeing as the motor had me totally perplexed! I basically threw all the parts on a shelf and stored the car for a few years in the garage. This is what was posted on the car before so everyone will know the history of what happened with the car.

I was looking around the net and noticed that Fiat lost it's old car part suppler IAP while I was away? THAT SUCKS!
Is there a decent place to buy parts now?
I still live in the Los Angeles area, is there anyone that can be trusted to work on these cars in LA if I decide I'm in over my head?
When I stopped working on the car my buddy insisted that the car had a spun rod bearing and I needed to pull the motor because of the slight knocking when running but I want to be sure before I pull the motor out that it isn't a mis timed aux shaft and not a rod bearing. I recently saw a video on youtube of a badly timed aux shaft on a spider and my car sounds similar.
Any help or information would be appreciated,
Robert

Re: Back at it again!
Auto Ricambi US in Texas bought IAP's Fiat parts business, and there is Mark Allison in CA, Vicks in Texas, and Spiderparts here on the forum (for good used parts) plus a few other good suppliers that I am sure will be mentioned here by others. These are only the four that I have dealt with. Parts availability is almost never a problem! Welcome back!

Might have to check out taking it to Mark's Shop. Looks like his shop is around 80 miles from me. It far but not too far, plus I have AAA Gold membership so I get free 100 mile towing. My knowledge with these cars is very limited and in those cases people tend to do more damage then they fix when working on cars!
