Apologies if this is a repost (hopefully not as looks like it was only loaded 3 weeks ago), but thought this was worth sharing - good little movie contrasting the 2. I'm a sensitive old soul, so found it slightly bitter-sweet.
Incredibly well shot and edited though.

Agreed. As much as I am excited to see the new one, the "classics" are forever now in a league of their own. I liken it to a character transitioning and the closing of a chapter, but not the end of the book.cyborg7 wrote:...found it slightly bitter-sweet.

I'll take the "older" 124 any day. Style and room behind the front seats is a selling point for me. New ones will have more safety features without a doubt but both are small cars..... Now if they could get similar power to a Honda S-2000 I might be swayed...

Imho they capture the spirit of the original. For the price there is NO other roadster as pretty (sorry Mazda) and if it is as fun to drive as the Miata then seriously what's not to like?
Ive owned a (gen 1) Miata and it is truly a joy to drive. I have a 71 Spider and like it a lot more but since Fiat left Mazda has been carrying the torch. Now that theyre combining forces I hope the Spider can stay in production as long as the MX5. Perhaps future iterations can excite us even more.

Yes, I agree. After two years of restoring my Spider to original detail, I stick with the 'old'...no Mazda for me!
