Metric Allen Wrenches Question

I just bought a 12 MM allen wrench to use on the oil PLug .. I got it at Sears and they didn't have a set that went up that large so I just got the one wrench.
My question is what sizes do I need that I would use on this car for everything short of over hauling the engine or the like?

I can't think of any sizes you'd need that's not included in one of those fold up sets. I keep a set in my Spider tool box and so far the only one I've used is the smallest one, and that was to reset the o2 sensor reminder light! IF you ever have to adjust your doors, the bolts on the hinges are allen head, but they're not an overly large size.

Trans. drain and fill, ditto rear end, steering box, cam covers, etc. It's usually cheaper to buy a set. I'm probably inviting a flame job, but the occasional mechanic can live with cheap tools for non-critical areas. Better a Chinese socket than a Vise-Grip.

ahhh.... grrr.... HF !!

i have a set that goes up to 10mm, and only use something that large on the cam cover bolts and on "american" car brakes. I also have the 12mm purchased from IAP or Vick, years ago.

if you have the OLD, old style cam cover nuts, you will need a 13mm.

of course, depending on how much torque you need to apply, you can always make your own hex drivers:

We have these over here, too, Tappy. They sometimes are the only wrench that will fit in a particular location. Now here is where you do want to spend money, Papa. Like cheap ratchets, they have a lot of play on the back stroke and require too much rotation to engage the next pawl.
