Jim,
I know it sounds like a pain in the ass but, drop the motor in on the cross member you have, install the dizzy and the hood. Check clearance above and below. Sump to cross member and dizzy / hood clearance.
If the motor needs to go up or down, at least you will know which way and how much. Then call AR and ask them what they have for motor mounts, to get you where you need to be.
Let's assume you have realized that Randy is not going to respond anymore and be the better man and delete his contact info. He's not worth your energy at this point. He is who he is! You can do this!!

Beek did replie to me on that cross member, he said use the one I have and make sure there is a 1/4 inch between then pan and cross member, using new motor mounts will be great, he mention that if I used a 2.0 cross member then I may have issues because of the flat hood , so what I have will work

hello. i just got the other back panel today, so i am happy on that, and i got the cowl over and getting it acid dipped. the rocker panels got stripped but from sanding, there is a plastic knob or what ever you call it on the rocker panels and the chrome strip slides over that , so i did not want them in the acid bath, one rocker was badly rusted bit was just filled with bondo, so i am getting that fixed, other then that things will move along now

I had brought the head into the machine shop a while back, thinking that I had giving him all the parts, well I get a call and there no valves there, I know he never lost them as I thought he had everything, the reason why I know they where not lost is because I seen him put my stuff in a closet sorta , well I looked at home and I don't even have them, so guess where they are ( Florida ). So I guess I will have to order another set

Did you get a gas or flux core welder Jim? If you got the flux core, take it back before you use it and get a proper mig with gas! It will save you a world of shitty trouble!

tip 1) be sure to close your eyes just a bit when starting the welds
cheap helmets are good enuf but may be a bit slow to darken
i was learning and seen the flash
now 5 years later i still have a wrinkle in my left eye
as it looks like a small hair in mt vision
i notice it on a cloudless day
but if i had many of them it would interfear with my job
tip 2) also i was not looking straight at it so its not centered in my vision
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

Take it back Jim!
Spend the money on a decent wire feed mig with a tank of Stargon for mild steel. If I know you like I think I do, you will run out of patience with the flux core bang box after about 2 hours of trying. They suck!
