Hmmmmm I did not gap The mag pick up .I forgot about that. I put the magnet with the line side down which is away the old one came out ,is that correct? Also does anybody know the correct gap for the mag pick up ? I do remember that a jumpy tack can be caused by the mag pick up. That could be where my issue is now

I believe stripe side down is correct. For the gap, I use the flap of the box the new pick-up came in as a feeler guage.
