The IHI RHB6 turbo used in the '81-82 Spider is a physically larger turbo than most IHI auto turbos made since. The units made for Legend Industries have compressors, compressor seals, hot sections, waste gates and actuators that are unique to those unit. You will not find any replacement parts in a modern Subaru or even the 1980's Isuzu box trucks and Yamar marine diesels that also used the RHB6.

Interesting post - one I hadn't seen until it was resurrected. I especially appreciate the pretty complete-looking list of all Turbo-specific components. To the OP, if you particularly like the power-delivery and torque characteristics of turbo motors, by all means go that route, though as someone already pointed out, be aware of the limitations of the stock trans and diff. But if you just want more power, it will be easier to do this with an NA motor, and it will give you a more classically-Italian-feeling engine. As the owner of a stock and all-there Turbo, i enjoy my car (when it's running right, and I'm actually driving it), but it's the only Spider I've ever driven.
