Re: Miata hardtop
While i found the miata fastback a nice looking car, i don't think it would meet my open car feeling that a proper convertible gives me. I am a huge fan of retractable hard tops but i just can't get behind this targaish top.

Like the X1/9, which feels open but is not a convertible.

Re: Miata hardtop
Definitely similar. I was let down to see the Miata RF as I wanted a 124 hardtop and I certainly understand what they might doing with this model to get people interested but still a bit disappointed but now I don't need to wait for next summer to see if the 124 will get a retractable hard top. On a side note I just saw my first water leak from my current car. After 5 years not too bad but tells me that time is moving forward.

Re: Miata hardtop
Hi Sherman, maybe Fiat will do a version of the Miata retractable hardtop after Mazda does theirs? I too would like to see that.
Re: Miata hardtop
i would not be surprised if they offered a hard top but i would be shocked if it was something much different than the retractable fastback. I would love to see the RF in person to see if there is a way that they can make it w/o the targa section. If there is something coming down the pipeline and someone has wind of it I hope they at least pass it on that maybe people might want to wait and see. I would be willing to wait one year to see a more standard styled hard top. Otherwise I think come summer I will bite the bullet.
