Config your Abarth

Post by phaetn »

A friend sent me this link from Fiat UK:

http://www.abarthcarconfigurator.com/en ... fault.aspx

It's really just about colours and trim, but interesting to see the black bonnet and boot with various schemes.

Cheers,

Neat!
My favorite config was blue, mat black bonnet & trunk lid, with all-black seats, manual stick, 10 speaker  stereo (if there's room for them) and all-black airdam with no other choice of wheels. The bottom line however is $58,372 CAD before taxes. A tad pricey!
Sticking to my vintage Fiat.

The base price was $43,000 US dollars.
I haven't bought anything new in years, but still seems there would be lots of other options for that amount.
I'll be sticking with the one that I already have as well.

Yes, it is pricey for sure in GBP.

Even though the site shows images of a left-hand drive Abarth, I wonder if UK prices take into account the extra production cost of RHD configurations. It will be interesting to see the US$ and CA$ prices to land them here. They have to at least stay somewhat competitive with Miatas, albeit they can get away with charging more for a car that would seem to deliver more power and possibly handling.

The recently unveiled rallying 124 Abarth makes me drool, even if it will never be available as a production car. Given time, I'm sure people will make aftermarket kits that can approach some of its looks and stance:

That's a sure thing!
Folks are very likely already waiting to get their hands on one the first 124s so that they can bastardize a fitting sample body kit for mass production to mimic a rally car. Stay tuned.

John, I'm going to pretend that you haven't bought a new car since you bought your spider 40 YEARS AGO!!
With that kind of history, nothing could replace it!!
Good on you!!

Me on the other hand, maybe I should have waited 3 years and just bought one of these for the same money I have into mine... Ouch!
I would have missed out on so much fun and learning!!
