The motor sounds like the Alfa 4C motor. Maybe it is bored out form 1.75L to 1.8L

Unfortunately, it's got the same 1.4L Turbo but 10 more hp out of the stock calibration

Main improvements I've seen listed are the 6-speed transmission, more 'open' exhaust similar to 500 Abarth, Brembo brakes, and Bilstein coils

In my eyes, the 124 Abarth provides a better platform but not much more power. With a few power upgrades it should be much more capable thanks to the suspension and brake upgrades.

The associated "motor" video on Abarth's YouTube channel states 170 horsepower max. I bet that the dealer will offer an option of a chip that would get that closer to 190-200. At the Geneva Auto Show where the new Abarth version was unveiled, they also unveiled a "rally" version. BEAUTIFUL car. The rally version will have a 1.8 300hp engine.

Either way, the Miata boys will feel the scorpion's sting .

Just surfing and saw the 2015 MX5 was rated at 167 HP without turbo.
Too bad the "new 124 does or will not have a spot behind the front seats so your dog can come along...

My german shepherd is not too impressed that the new spider does not accomodate a rear seat for himself for drives to the local pub, so i have to keep the old spider
