The real test is how it pulls under pressure at the bottom of 3rd gear. Take it for a spin and let us know.

Sounds great! May need a little more fine tuning on the front carb :-)

Csaba, would you be concerned about them all drawing 6 instead of 4.5? If I have the timing advanced a tad too far would that cause them to draw more?

Jim, it is a Magnflow. It's a bit load right now because I still have some pin holes in my welds that need attention.

No, that should be fine. Maybe I did not see correctly, but it seemed like on the front carb one was at 5, the other at 7.

You saw correctly!
After a little more tinkering, I have 2,3 & 4 drawing 5.5 and 1 still at a little over 6. Every time I thumb the throttle down, they get closer. So, I think a little more work on the linkage and maybe another return spring will get me where I need to be.
I drove it around the block a few more times and she pulls very nicely through 3rd. With no windshield, lights etc. I can't really get out on the open road yet and pulling 50 in third is probably pissing my neighbors off in our tiny little hood. With that said, I think I have it close enough to get back to readying the car for paint. With it painted I can install some lights and and windshield. Then I'll be able to further test... Maybe without my eyes watering from the wind burn!!

Thanks Csaba!!
The whole ring thing was a difficult lesson but now that I'm past it, and on to learning new stuff, I am already forgetting the delays my ignorance cost!
You did get your hone back right?
Thanks again for that!!

Mohle, looks like you are digging into yours! Soon there will be no jealousy!

We spent the bulk of the weekend finishing up the solar go kart:

But, I found a few minutes to bolt the airbox and intake piping all back together.
