Megajolt system
I am having a bit of an issues with my distributor, I got a new one from mrfiat last spring but it was a bit different than the original and wouldn't work with the Petronix I got from AutoRicambi. So I pilfered the advance springs off the new one and put them on the old one. It works ok but I was looking to upgrade. I found this megajolt system http://trigger-wheels.com/store/contents/en-uk/d54.html, does anyone have this system on their Spider?

Hi 70spider,
For that kind of money, I'd get the custom Computronix electronic ignition for your Spider from Mark at Allison's Automotive. I put that in my '82 2000 and it works like a champ.

I probably will if the stars line up and he has the unit and I have the cash for it at the same time . I was just asking about the Megajolt to see what others thought. I am not looking to buy until October anyways.

You can purchase MegaJolt components in the US direct from Autosports Labs or one of their dealers

The beauty of the system is that it is programmable for temperature, load and rpm, thus allowing the timing to be optimized. There is no one curve/map that is optimal for any engine. Old distributor/mechanically based systems cannot allow for the non-linearity of an optimized system. But you have to have the patience and mindset required to do the optimization.
And yes it will likely be more expensive. Just depends on what you are after.
