Hi,
I have a question, or more of a favour to ask anyone who owns a 1980 FI 124 Spider who has the original manual that came with the car.
Could you check the manual and confirm the following information in the service intervals or specifications section.
I would like to know what it states for Manual Transmission and Differential Oil/ Fluid.
Does it state SAE 90 Not EP for both the transmission and Diff?
I am not after opinions on what to use, or brands, or equivalents, simply what is exactly stated/ printed in the factory specifications.
I only have a Fiat 124 & 2000 Spider workshop Manual 1971 -1980 and want to validate the details are correct as I have heard some items in this manual may be incorrect.
Thanks in advance

Re: Original Service Manual Question
Brilliant thanks Jay I think it reads from the image EP for the Diff and 80W90 with antiwear additives for the manual trans!
Is your diff accessible from a rear removal plate or unbolts from the front?

Re: Original Service Manual Question
The diff oil MUST BE 'EP' (extreme pressure) rated, otherwise the gears will be damaged. This is true for pretty much every rear wheel drive car made in the last 60 years.

Re: Original Service Manual Question
Thanks Csaba. Appreciate the response.
I am trying to verify/ compare the Fiat issued manual with other publications.
Perhaps if I can widen this to a Fiat 124 CC and Pre 1978 Spider Fiat manual.
If any one can confirm what the Trans and Diff specs state in the Fiat Manual it would be appreciated.

Re: Original Service Manual Question
That is the first actual 1980 Owners manual I have seen. I have been trying to source one for a long time! If anyone knows of one that is available and in relatively good condition, please let me know!
