Needing Help with LHD engine bay pic
Hi All
Even though I am downunder, I need to know what originally was in the LHD location as I am restoring my car as a RHD and would like to replicate the LHD, All I really need to know is which hole does the accelerator cable come out and what used in the hole between the clutch cable and what think is the accelerator cable hole??
I have used the search function and have downloaded some pics but have not been able to find these.
It would be really helpful if somebody could point out a pic showing the accelerator cable and the usage of the hole in between.

Ahh, never though of that, mine has been routed inside the car and goes though a hole in the tunnel...
I only wish these were made in RHD to avoid all the shenanigans of conversions.

Another way to look at it by population is that 65% of the worlds population lives where LHD is needed and 35% where RHD is needed.

You need another color, a third one, purple would be appropriate, for Massachusetts.

Given that they (from my limited reading admittedly) produced around 200,000 Spiders and the Coupe was available in RHD form, producing a RHD Spider cannot have been a a big deal surely? My guess is purely down to marketing decisions. The Lancia Beta Spyder (Zagato) was produced in far fewer numbers (around 9,000 in total), but was available in RHD and LHD versions from the start. Admittedly it was a modded Coupe, but again there were nowhere near as many of those made (approx 90,000) as the number of 124 Spiders.

I think they figured that the UK market was dominated by the English brands (MG, Triumph, etc), and the US market was absorbing pretty much everything built, so no need to make the RHD effort. My understanding is that there has never been a very large market in the UK for Italian cars, is that pretty much true?

"Straight on Red after Stop (or slowing down a little)"
Yellow: Accelerate
Red: Keep going through
Green: Stop because you know they're coming through in the other direction

This actually happened to an Englishman in France who was totally drunk.
A French policeman stops the Englishman's car and asks if he has been drinking.
With great difficulty, the Englishman admits that he has been drinking all day, that his daughter got married that morning, and that he drank champagne and a few bottles of wine at the reception, and many single malts scotches thereafter.
Quite upset, the policeman proceeds to alcohol-test (breath test) the Englishman and verifies that he is indeed totally sloshed.
He asks the Englishman if he knows why, under French Law, he is going to be arrested.
The Englishman answers with a bit of humour,
"No sir, I do not! But while we're asking questions,
do you realize that this is a British car and
that my wife is driving . . . . on the other side?

We experienced a ton of rear-end accidents in Maryland when red-light cameras were first introduced ... for this very reason. I myself had a split-second to choose between a $50 no-points ticket and an accelerating bread truck.
