Hi,
I'm restoring a 1979 Spider automatic. Car runs fine, transmission shifts great. I removed the shift handle and removed the plasic piece that you pull up on to release and move the car into reverse, neutral and drive. Unfortunately the wire that threads into the handle became badly frayed and I cant get the assembly back together. The wire needs to be replaced. I can still get the car in gear by using pliers to pull up on the frayed wire to move the shifter but will never be able to put it back together without changing that release wire. Any help woulf be appreciated
