1000W amp hidden behind rear seats. Blackberry stereo gateway as it's only feed. Bluetooth from iPhone to gateway. Great quality sound, no head unit required, and "CarPod" is a great app for controlling the whole lot.

Re: What radio to install?
I also just installed a BlackBerry Gateway directly to an amp. So far so good, I still need to get 5 volts to the gateway from the car.
An in line controller is on the way to act as a manual volume control. Seemed like a good emergency backup.
My plan is to replace my head unit with a single din triple gauge trim to hold oil temp, pressure and volts.

Re: What radio to install?
I am sorry I let my LearJet in-dash 8 track stay with the last car I had installed it in. Very much like the OEM radio and correct for the time period. It was new and current technology when I bought it. I usually boxed it up when I changed cars but it was a relative who begged that I leave it in the car while he had it and he forgot that he promised to give the unit back when he sold the car.

I used one of these little modules to provide the 5v.burgandy81 wrote:I also just installed a BlackBerry Gateway directly to an amp. So far so good, I still need to get 5 volts to the gateway from the car. [snip]

As for the console - getting hold of a 124 Coupe one works well. Remove the air vents and you've got two 2.5" mounting pods.
