Need Convertible Top Installation Guide

Post by kmoses »

Does anyone know of a working link for installing a convertible top? The IAP and Fiatsplus links no longer work.

The translation comes out a little weird, but it is an installation guide nonetheless.

Start with this link:

Then keep searching the forum. There's more but I just had a minute to check.

I had mine done but doing it yourself is very doable so good luck.

I found 10 good links while searching the forum but none addressed attaching the top to the bows.
Specifically is the cloth that wraps around the bows glued directly to the bow or is the cloth wrapped around the bow and glued to itself. It looks like the best way would be glue the cloth to itself so the bow could rotate if needed but the instructions say otherwise.

Recently, I've read posts that say it could be done either way but I remember an old post on mirafiori.com that stated specifically to glue the cloth to itself instead of gluing it to the bows so the bows could rotate when raising and lowering the top just as you stated. That seems to make the most sense to me and it's what I'll do when the time comes. My 2 cents.

Good luck

My bows have cloth sleeves that the top is glued to. The sleeves are free to rotate on the bows.

The top on mine had it both ways, the rear bow had the sleeves glued to the bow but the middle and front sleeves were not glued to the bows.
When I get ready to put the top back on I will be letting my bows rotate freely and just overlap and glue the sleeves.
Until then I will be working on water routing from the rear side windows. My car came with plastic pockets that are busted beyond repair and I have not seen any listed new or on ebay. :(
