A Fiat Christmas Present

Post by phaetn »

One of my closest friends, whom I see only two or three times a year as he lives about 700km away in Boston, gave me a Christmas present of two vintage mags featuring the Fiat Spider. One is Car and Driver, April 1973, which compares European sports cars that can be raced on the track; the other is Road & Track, July 1968, with one of the first reviews of the 124 Spider on North American shores (it features both the Coupe and Spider). My buddy flipped through hundreds of vintage mags in the gift shop of the Larz Anderson Auto Museum to find these gems.

I've scanned them to share in all their vintage goodness. Ho! Ho! Ho! Click on the images, above, and you can view the images page by page for each periodical. (Note that you'll have to click on the left arrow to advance pages as they were uploaded in sequential order, first page to last).

Enjoy and Merry Christmas!!

Cheers,

Great read for a lazy Christmas day, thanks for posting. I also viewed your own photo gallery, the car's stance is highly improved with your new progressive springs. Great upgrade along with new tie rods, center link and control arms. Keeping Canadan busy and out of trouble is always a good thing since he don't do that anymore. We must push him into advancing with his '85 (that's on standby for so many years) so that we can see more of him outside his garage rather than inside. That said, we can say that the baker never eats his own bread.

Love seeing the old publications. Really makes me feel young when that paper was printed and pressed long before I was born

1984 Pininfarina Azzurra (for sale)
