1800 head to use with 2l block

Post by BammBamm »

I heard that not all the 1800 heads are desirable to use with a 2l block. Which one do i want?

Any one of them will fit. So will a 1592 head. IIRC the 1976 Lancia Montecarlo head has the largest ports by a couple of mm, so it may open up the breathing slightly (more air/more power).

I'm not sure what makes one or the other undesirable; the later 1800 heads had air pump connections, so you have to plug those holes if they aren't plugged already. Otherwise they're all kind of the same head.

Great to hear. Thank you. Do you know the value of a good 74 1800 head?

All US-sped 1800 head had the 4 ports for the air-pump manifold.
