On the sticker - have you had a repaint... I wonder what's underneath it?

Nice job btw. Agree on a flange.

Some edge trim might work better than fuel line http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-32-Black-Shee ... 3641.l6368

Almost forgot to mention that mine had started popping up and the root cause was not the latch under the hood but that the lever under the dash was sticking and not releasing 100%. Once I freed up the release lever the latch catches stong enough that you'll more likely bend the hood in half before the latch will pop.

Topless: Over its long life, he car has been bronze (original), green and lastly red (since at least 2001, and likely much earlier). The latest incarnation is the red.

Diesel: Good idea, I checked that and the lever is fine. Also, as soon as I pulled off the trim, the hood stopped popping up, so there is a direct causal link.

AFR: That is exactly what I need! Just have to make sure that it is very thin.

You did a better job on your bracket and access hole than I did on my 80 model. I used a piece of copper sheet metal.

Those 83+ tanks seem to hard to come by. I wanted to relocate my washer tank under the cowl for ages then finally someone had one up for sale on Mira or Ebay and I jumped at it.

Thanks. The pic is clipped at the right but if you resize it to 725 pixels max width it will show fully!

One more thought on the hood popping open: It seems that the hood latch mechanism rotates on the mount that is closest to the left (driver's side in US) and is secured at the right (passenger's side in US). It seems counter intuitive, but since it was popping open because I thought it was sitting on the rubber trim of the new access hole for the washer bottle, I loosened and rotated the catch mechanism clockwise, which raises it a little. The thinking was that this would make it latch earlier and overcome the force popping it open. The reverse turned out to be true! It popped open more frequently. So I rotated the latch mechanism back CCW, thereby pushing the "click" point lower, and that solved the problem.
