Can anyone tell me for sure if this manifold will work with a 1979 2 liter Spider head?

It will bolt up but do the parts that cover water holes work? I am mostly concerned about what appears to be a recessed area that looks to just open up downward between #1 and #2 runners? Has anyone used on of these successfully on a 2 liter Spider?

Find a good 1800 intake manifold...this not only has the recessed area but some cross-port plumbing (it may simply be a water jacket) between two of the runners. I'm also not sure the water inlet is on the right side of the manifold, wouldn't a 124 head have it on the back, vs. the front runner?

It does not have the piece that goes over the rear water outlet on the 2000 head.
