help wanted on id engine

Post by Tappy »

i splitted this of a previous post
but i realised this deserves a treat on his own
can sobody help me figure this out ? i found some numbers on the engine and head but my sources seem to be not sure ...

Stay with me on this one ...

the head has partnr 4372297

and on this site :http://www.fiatparts.com/carb.pdf
that seems to be a head of a (1592????)/1995 , fiat 131

but When you search this site:

http://clublancista.org/archivos/incl/l ... eabd806efa
you can see that it belongs on a 134as.600 engine

and here :

http://www.netikka.net/ville.vieri/tc/tclist.htm
they cleam that this head comes of a 134AS.600--1756--82-- Lancia Beta Scorpion California-m.

SO according to all the info on the net the head can be 1592 (really doubt that becouse i dont think the 1.6 and 2l heads are interchangable) a 1995 head from a 131, or a 1756 head from a LAncia beta scorpion
pls piont me out here

this information overload doesn't even stop there , to much google WILL kill u (or get you serious confused)

the engine is the same blur for me , it has these nr on it partnr 4356114 and 132 db 2a 0

Seems to be of a fiat argenta from 1980-1981 on this site
http://www.histomobile.com/1/Fiat/1972/132.htm?lan=1

but here

http://clublancista.org/archivos/incl/l ... eabd806efa
you can see that this 132DB 2A 0 has engine part 132.DB.000

according to this site
http://www.netikka.net/ville.vieri/tc/tclist.htm
the 132.DB.000 was used in the 132DB.000--1995--Volumetrico (supercharged)

so wich one is it ? the 80-81 argenta , or the volumetrico ? At least i'm sure its a 1995 ...

pls piont me out here also

are there partnr on the cams ? i've notished one of them is yellow , the other one isn't so they are probably of 2 different cars ....

Anyone with time on his hands who want to clear this up for me , would be greatly appreciated

According to Pete Angel at mirafiori.com, it is from a 1592/1995 Fiat 131. See page five in this document http://home.wirehub.nl/~edalkema/extras ... ly2004.pdf.

Good lord - my documents posted all the over in the Netherlands. The head table in the new book is more accurate but still your head is from a 1592.

I believe the 1592 head (132ac engine) is interchangeable but the 1608 is not (except with a 1438).

will that increase the compresion ?
compression was last time i mesured :

1= 7
2=7.2
3=8
4=7.4

are these figures good or not , have no clue

on the brad pages it also can be a 1995 head or am i incorrect ? still confused
i'm not a mechanic , i'm a cook so everything i do is new for me

i've read that compression on the 1995 should be 8:1 ? but a 1800 head on a 1995 increseases that up to 9:1 correct me if i'm wrong so will the 1592 head increse even more ?

maybe when the carbs are back on i should use a motor cleaner additif any suggestions ?

the more i learn the cunfuser i get .....

Well....

The head ID table isn't perfect. We have all of this data scattered around on microfilm but it would take a long, long time to sort through it. The idea is to get it all scanned in, and it hasn't happened yet (maybe this will motivate me).

However, there is no reason why that wouldn't have been used on both the 1592 and the 2000. The casting is identical...it isn't until the 79/80 federal 2000 head came out that the casting changed, then it changed back to the 1592/2000 style with the fuel injected cars.

mybe the table is right on ....

maybey they used exact the same head for the 1592 as for the 1995 that would make sense
