carb help
I have a 74 spider with a 75 engine and carburetor in it. The carburetor has a idol solenoid to let the engine idol below 2000 rpm. Since my car does not have that wire to give it power what can I do to make it work on this car. Where would the wire come from on a 75 spider? Thanks for your help.

There are a few wires on the driver's side fender that have 12V with the power on. Use a voltmeter and test for one that is powered when the car is in the RUN position. You can use one of those or run a new wire from the fuse box.

Can I run any hot wire to the idol solinoid or does it have to come from the distributor or something special? Can it be hot all the time? Thank you

It must be hot when the ignition is on. It doesn't have to run from anything specific, just something switched with the key. The 74 has a bunch of wiring on that fender, something in there is likely not used and hot. A purge valve wire or something in the fast idle solenoid.genx75spider wrote:Can I run any hot wire to the idol solinoid or does it have to come from the distributor or something special?
