Arm rest chrome insert
Arm rest chrome insert
I know I can pick these up from some of the vendors, but I also read somewhere that a simple chrome plastic strip from local auto parts store works as well. Since I need to redo mine for both my 83 Spider and my 70 Spider, I'd be more interested in picking up a few feet worth and cutting to fit. Anyone have the link saved of this process? I can't seem to locate it again>

In this post Gritracing makes mention of picking up mylar type decals for a couple bucks at the local body shop or parts store. Seems you could take the existing piece and recover it.

I have seen it in Canadian Tire in Ontario as well for about 8 bucks. Take the piece out as it slides out then apply the shall we call it pin striping.

I went in a different direction with mine. I stripped them and then painted them and the strips on the rear shelf to match the color of my '83 Azzura. The red really makes the interior pop. I'd enclose a photo if I could only figure out how to do it. It seems that I'm technically challenged.

An easy way to post pix is to create and account on Photobucket.com (its free), upload your pics there, then copy and paste the IMG url to the desired place on your post.
Sounds confusing until you do it, then its easy.
Photobucket will also allow editing and stuff. Easy and free. Whats not to like?

You are almost there with the technique John. Diesel has it right.
More important, though, is your creative approach of using color highlites. I think I like it. If the interior was black I certainly would.
Mine, too, is "beige." The older tan version.
