10,000 cars in the worldwide spider registry

Post by rdv »

Hi at all,
We got it: the 10,000th spider documented in the worldwide spider registry!

The list can be viewed and filtered at:
https://www.fiatspider.de/de/interaktiv ... =&limit=50
The standard sorting is by "last update", "spidertype" and by "chassisnumber", a Full-text search is possible.
Attention: To identify a car you need the chassisnumber, NOT the VIN!

First time published are some statistics about the actual 4,914 U.S. cars like:

Full statistics by each state are here:
https://www.fiatspider.de/de/interaktiv ... ister.html
(first entry)

Any feedback is welcome!

bye

Magnificent report
Last Sunday at Classic Cars Show of Padua I spoke with the president of the "Register Fiat 124 Spider" and I proposed creating a register in Italy. But for privacy reasons he prefers not to do it
No comment .........
Meanwhile, about 10 days ago I recorded my spider on your site.
and yesterday I joined.
I think if he had even the titles of the threads in English would be great
I had promised myself to compare your data with that in my possession on the Italian situation. When I return to Italy I will.

Wow! I found my car on the registry. 124CS10117978 I think the person who put it there is the one I bought it from and I learned he kept it garaged and only put on 2000 miles etc. Am I supposed to update the listing or anything?

Fantastic. I hope the message, as they say now, is viral. This spider, designed by the great Pininfarina, is a fantastic car. As few. Just look at how much like the beautiful Ferrari 275 GTS .... and do not add more.... for now.

Hi,
no problem to update the car info! just use the "registry form" with the updated data to the chassisno.
https://fiatspider.de/de/interaktiv/fah ... ntrag.html

Or just mail me your new data at fahrzeugregister(at)fiatspider(dot)de.
New Pictures are always welcome!

Bye Ralf

PS: I got more than 8,000 created PDF-Files from listed Ebay Spider from 2006 till today, which still must be included into the registry. So if you are looking for a car, just mail me your VIN or chassisno.!

THAT is totally awesome, good job Ralf. Once these are incorporated into the registry and easily searchable it will be another invaluable resource for owners (and potential owners). Back before I had kids and had much more free time I used to view each and every Spider that came up on Ebay, and it was amazing the number of cars that got fewer miles the older they got.

Sam

I added my spider to the registry (at least I think I did). Searching, I notice that there aren't any other Prugna (Plum, Pflaume) spiders noted. Last one?

Hi Joe, sorry to say: You aren't the last plum one!
By searching in the field "Farbcode" with german content "violett" you will find 70 fiat spider in plum, mostly CS1 type cars.

Thanks for your car registration, I got it!

Bye,
Ralf

I updated my car by vin #, translating to English to help fill in some catagories. Car still shows only PO's entry.

Hi,
when did you send your update of car data? What's your VIN?

We got a little problem with truncating the free text field "description". So hopefully I got your update, but it actually can't be shown in the field because of the older description as first content in the field.

Ciao,
Ralf

My VIN is in my earlier post here. Otherwise, I have no idea what you mean..."truncating the free text field" etc. :)

During the presentation of the new 124, didn't they say there were "8,000" Spiders still extant? I wonder what accounts for the difference in the numbers. Perhaps they said 8,000 still on the road.
