Remove Fuel injector Retainer Plate

I recently purchased a rebuilt fuel injector. It did not come with a "retainer plate" (my terminology). How do I remove the retainer plate from the old fuel injector so I can install it on the new fuel injector?

from memory and this is from memory, you should be able to take of the larger rubber seal (which is rock hard by now) and then it should slide of..

Correct. The large seal goes around the body of the injector and it can be pried off.
