Here's a suggestion.

7" Trucklite LEDs.

I went through the process of installing H4 bulbs in some 7" reflectors, and upgrading to relays. That certainly made a nice upgrade on the Sealed Beams that were stock. However, I came across the Trucklites - and took the plunge. They're absolutely SUPERB. Brilliant white light with great cut off. The high beam is fantastic. Also, as they're LEDs you don't need the relay upgrade to run them - they draw a very low current indeed.

So, if you've yet to put in relays, or even haven't moved from Sealed Beams, I'd seriously consider the Trucklites. They come in a "black" version (which does look quite neat when you have a black grill etc) and a "silver" version which looks much more stock.

Available on Amazon, they're not cheap - BUT - for anyone who's had a cracked headlight, these have polycarb lenses, and an aluminium housing. Oh, and as they're LEDs, there's a very low heat generation.

I am installing Cibie H4s. Has anyone had any experience with doing the H4 to LED conversion? Just curious, in case I decide to go with LEDs at a later date.

I wrote a tech tip for headlight relay upgrade for the mirafiori site. It's easy to do yourself and very effective.

The Trucklite's plug straight into the H4 harness. No other modification needed. If going to LEDs then no need for relays.
