windshield replace

Post by 80spiddy »

I have a new windshield to install. I have the front cowl off from painting. Is it best to leave this off so you can access the lower seal of windshield? Once installed, sneak the cowl back under the seal?

One of the problems with these sorts of tech videos is they might not always be accurate. The method shown in the video will very likely result in leaking between the lower portion of the rubber seal and the bodywork. If you choose this method you should remove your dash to correctly install the lower portion of the gasket onto the bodywork.

Alternatively, the method recommended by Fiat and one I have used in the past....is to not remove the gasket from the car. This requires help from a buddy and a bit of luck.

Brad has been gracious enough to post the Tech bulletin on his web site
