Weber 28/36 DHSA Fuel issue

Post by Huck4825 »

Info
79 Spider
1800 intake with Weber 28/36 DHSA Fuel issue
Fuel is getting into bowl but that is as far as it gets. I've taken the top off cleaned everything. I've taken the cover off pump and the diaphragm is stiff. Would this cause the fuel not getting up thru the check valve?
Any help would be nice.. Thanks for any input

Yes taken the top of the card. Removed jets and have cleand them
Taken the pump off as well ti clean put found the diaphragm very stiff. Culd that cause no fuel togo thru the jets?

the accelerator pump has no effect on the main jets. Have you blown through the circuits?

That will be my next attempt. Something has to be blocking the fuel. If I take jets out I can spray clean thru all p[orts. Once back together nada thing goes thru

you don't need to remove the jets to blow through the circuits

Is this a newer issue or has the car been sitting for a while? Since the stiff accelerator pump diaphragm will likely need replaced its not much more for the carb rebuild kit so you'd be better off pulling the carb, disassembling, and thoroughly cleaning everything in a solvent like Berrymans Chem dip or Gunk carb soak (just don't soak plastic or rubber parts). Let it soak overnight then blast it with a carb cleaner aerosol and finish up with compressed air. Reassemble with rebuild parts and it will be like new.
